Off the field
A pub, a national trail, and the nearest shop
With direct access to the South Downs Way, we are the perfect location for walkers, cyclists and adventurists.
Two miles from the field
The Star & Garter
Just two miles from the field in the village of East Dean, is The Star & Garter pub. The pub offers delicious seasonal menus, local ales, and a warm countryside welcome.
Book a table for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and enjoy 10% off your food bill when you present your booking confirmation with us.
Please note discounts do not apply during Goodwood events.

The South Downs Way
One mile from the field, with direct access. Walkers, cyclists and anyone who wants a day out that starts at the tent rather than in the car.
The woodland
The ancient woodland around the field is managed by the Forestry Commission. Reach it by the public footpaths just down the hill, or the gate in the north corner. Please do not cross the fences.
Shops and fuel
The villages of West Dean, Boxgrove, or Sainsbury's in Chichester (with fuel).
How far is everything
The four road distances come from the cast iron fingerpost at the crossroads, which is also the landmark most people remember on the way in.
Proposed, not on your site today
A library of walks starting at the gate, each with a distance, a rough time and a downloadable route, is one of the things we would build next. The South Downs Way is a mile away and there is not a single route on your site today.
