Getting here
Six stages, one farm track, and a mile with no signal
Satnav gets you to the right corner of the Downs and then stops being useful. This guide takes over from there, and it keeps working after your phone gives up.
Signal drops from the beginning of Newhouse Lane and does not come back until you are at the top of the camping field. Load this page before you turn in and it stays on your phone.

1 Aim for the crossroads, not the postcode Signal fine
Set your satnav for PO18 0NJ to get you into the right corner of the Downs, then stop trusting it. The postcode covers a wide rural area and the last mile is not a road it knows.

-
2 The cast iron fingerpost Signal fine
You are looking for the old white fingerpost: Goodwood 3 and Chichester 7 one way, Upwaltham 2 and Petworth 9 the other, and a NO THROUGH ROAD arm pointing the way you want to go. The bench beside it is the landmark people remember.
Gone too far: If you reach a village high street with shops, you have gone past it.
We need to check this with you
Landmark and distances read off her own photograph. Which approach road to name is a question for her.

3 Newhouse Lane, and the moment your signal goes Signal going
Turn into Newhouse Lane. Signal drops from the beginning of the lane and does not come back until you are at the top of the camping field. Anything you need on your phone, have it open before you turn in.
Gone too far: No through road. If the lane opens back out onto a main road, you are on the wrong lane.

4 Our oak sign: one mile to go No signal
An oak fingerpost carved with Newhouse Farm Camping, 1 mile, next to a South Downs Way marker. From here it is our farm track, and the track is the drive.

-
5 The one mile track, the cattle and the hill No signal
A rural, one mile farm track with a hill up to the field. You will weave through grazing Longhorn and Sussex cattle. Take it slowly, close any gate you open, and give the cattle room.
Gone too far: The track is the drive. There is no wrong turn on it, only a slow one.

-
6 The gate, and signal comes back Signal back
Signal restores at the top of the camping field. Grass pitches from 12pm to 7pm, pods from 2pm to 7pm. Park at a pitch of your choice around the perimeter, or make your own space in the middle.

We need to check this with you
Your current site has a "Getting to the farm" heading with nothing underneath it, so there were no directions to work from. Every stage above is built from something you do publish, or from a landmark in one of your own photographs. The one stage marked in amber need you to tell us which road people should actually approach on.
Arriving in the dark?
The field closes at the end of September, and by then it is dark not long after seven. Aim to be on the track in daylight if you can.
